Residential
Duplex Penthouse, St Katherine Docks
LONDON, ENGLAND
This 10-year old apartment had not been decorated since the builders left. We provided our clients with a complete turn-key service which included installation of a new heating system, bathroom design, lighting design and bespoke joinery throughout; on site project management was essential.
The windows on both flank walls of the reception were blocked in leaving only the doors to the west terrace. The extra wall depth this created allowed for the new radiators to be recessed.
The existing door to the east terrace (now accessed through the kitchen), was blocked in to allow room for the large painting.
The double doors were designed with glazing to allow as much light as possible into the hall, which was finished in Venetian polished plaster.
Our clients have an extensive art collection, which they frequently move around; we fitted a discrete picture hanging system to avoid making holes in the walls.
On the upper floor, the colours were inspired by the clients¹ paintings; downstairs we took our inspiration from the marina and the Thames, which the apartment overlooks.
