Barrett Green House

LONDON, ENGLAND

The Barratt Green House is a test ‘Home for the Future’ and has undergone rigorous environmental testing at the BRE (Building Research Establishment) Innovation Park. Our brief was to design the interiors using as many environmentally friendly products as possible. Low emission paint and non-vinyl wallpapers have been used throughout. All the fabrics are from natural sources such as bamboo, cotton and wool. Feature doors, trims and worktops are made from recycled plastics, for example yogurt pots, milk bottles and mobile phones. We also upcycled various items of furniture and found recycled vinyl records and juice boxes reimagined as decorative accessories.
